Brenda K. Davies is an amazingly rich story writer. This book is full of action, suspense, turmoil, and chemistry. The book follows River's journey from her home after what she believes was World War 3. In the years following the war, River cares for and supports her mother and two younger brothers until she is betrayed to the government for her odd "powers". River is taken to "the Wall" where she is to be trained to defend the country. On this journey, River meets Kobal, a demon, and learns that everything she has believed about the war is false.

OMG, I absolutely LOVED this story so much. It just grabbed a hold of me and has quickly became my new fav series and obsessions. The characters are fresh and amazing. The way she describes them and the details are amazing. She goes into thee world she created so perfectly that you think you are right there. I can not wait for the next installment and I hope this one will be a long one pike her other series. I seriously am so excited for what is to come. I am going to read this again and again till the next one comes out. Thank u for the best read I've had in awhile, I love your writing so much
